Backpacking In Canada
This was my first trip to Canada and it did not disappoint. John and I decided to drive up on Labor Day weekend, giving us an extra day to explore.
We decided to backpack to Panorama Ridge in Garibaldi Park. You have to reserve a camping permit online to camp at Taylor Meadows, or where we camped, at Garibaldi Lake.
If theres water, John is bound to jump in, no matter how cold!
After a quick nap and getting set up at our campsite at Garibaldi Lake, we started our trek to Panorama Ridge.
The whole trail up was gorgeous.
And then this happened. The water was the most magnificent blue I had ever seen. We packed a day pack, had dinner on the ridge, and stayed to watch the sun set.
And then this happened...I didn't know it could get any better!
Making our way back down with Black Tusk in sight.
We arrived back to camp in the dark and marveled at the stars.
Always wake up for the sunrise folks! Here, we enjoyed some hot oat meal and headed back to the car.
We decided to stay a night in Whistler. This is a destination town for great reason. A majority of the people here were mountain bikers and outdoorsy people. We felt so comfortable here.
We had a great time riding the Peak to Peak Gondola and exploring around Whistler/Blackcomb.
There are so many amazing hikes and sights in Canada. We can't wait to go back!
